Helen combines historical research, mainly in Ethiopia and Wales, with writing and illustrating books. She also produces artwork - paintings, sketches and photographs based on her travels.  Her interest in biodiversity has resulted in her developing a forest garden in Wales and keeping a pictorial record of plants located there.  She is currently researching the history of Bodelwyddan from Roman times up to the present.

Helen gives illustrated presentations on her research into Ethiopian art and  illustration, H.M.Stanley, and the life and works of Dorothy Tennant who was married to H.M.Stanley.
